Karan Johar Sells Half of Dharma Productions
Karan Johar has officially sold 50% of Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment. The buyer is Adar Poonawalla, a billionaire and CEO of the Serum Institute of India. He paid 1,000 crores for this stake in Karan’s famous production company.
Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta will continue to lead Dharma Productions. Karan will serve as the Executive Chairman, while Apoorva will be the Chief Executive Officer. This deal will help them expand their projects and reach more audiences.
Dharma Productions was founded by Karan’s father, Hiroo Yash Johar, in 1979. The first movie produced by the company was Dostana, released in 1980. Since then, Dharma has made over 60 movies and continues to grow in the film industry.
